On May 23rd, the seminar on "Personal Information Protection Law (Second Review Draft)" was held at Tongji University as one of the activities for the 114th anniversary of Tongji University.
The theme of this seminar was "Personal Information Protection Law (Second Review Draft)" revision and its improvement suggestion. During the in-depth discussion, relevant information of personal information protection and the necessity of personal information protection legislation from the perspective of theory and practice were well covered and shared. Solutions to new problems that arose from the practice of personal information protection are urgently required. Also, new ideas and suggestions for amendments on its future development and legislation are strongly encouraged.
Prof.ZHANG Taolue, associate professor of Tongji Law School and director of the Internet and Artificial Intelligence Law Research Center, made a concluding comment. He believed that this seminar basically covers most of the provisions of the "Personal Information Protection Law (Second Review Draft)", and the discussion has reached certain broad and difficult issues under this topic. Furthermore, valuable opinions of all parties and various legal categories were fully exchanged throughout this seminar. He said, ”I hope that the experts will continue to support the work of the Tongji Law School and the Internet and Artificial Intelligence Law Research Center in the future, and jointly contribute to the rule of law in China.”
